We suggest wearing comfortable closed-toe shoes and clothes that you enjoy moving around in! While hiking boots are ideal, sneakers are also suitable -- unless otherwise noted.

Yes, you are responsible for bringing your own water and snacks. We suggest bringing a refillable water bottle containing anywhere from 1 to 2 litres depending on weather conditions. Check out this post by KOA for adventure friendly snack ideas.

For your general comfort we suggest the following:
Comfortable closed-toe shoes with good traction (i.e. sneakers or hiking boots)
Socks (to prevent blisters)
Comfortable clothing you enjoy moving around in (if it's breathable, even better!)
Dependant on temperature or weather conditions:
Sun or Rain protection (think hats, jackets, or other garments)
Cold weather clothing/accessories (think base layers, coats, mitts, warm hats or tuques, and scarves!)

It depends on the outing and your personal fitness level. Our Difficulty Rating is based off the formula developed by Shenandoah National Park which takes into account your hikes total distance and vertical elevation gain. Please read our Adventure description(s) for more details.
Ratings
Easy - A hike that is generally suitable for anyone who enjoys walking. Mostly level with a few inclines. Generally less than 5 km (3 miles) but can be longer depending on elevation gain.
Moderate - A hike that's generally suitable for folks who want a bit of a challenge. The terrain may involve a handful of inclines and may have some steeper sections. Generally 5 km to 8 km (3 to 5 miles) but can be longer or shorter depending on elevation gain.
Challenging - A challenging hike that will generally be challenging for an unconditioned person. The terrain will involve steady and often steep inclines. Generally 8 km to 12 km (5 to 8 miles) but can be longer or shorter depending on elevation gain.

We run our adventures rain, snow, or shine so please dress accordingly! We will only cancel or reschedule in the event of severe or dangerous weather conditions. Otherwise, tickets are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to future events.
For Adventures, all tickets are non-refundable.
For private corporate and group bookings, full refunds (minus the non-refundable deposit) are available for cancellations made with at least one week's notice.
The minimum number of people is six (6) people for corporate and three (3) people for group bookings. If you are booking for a group smaller than these minimums, we can accommodate you if a booking is already scheduled for a given date. We can also accommodate you if you are willing to buy out the additional spots in full.
